Weather Updates:
Weather updates will be posted on the Triple Crown Sports App, and be posted on the website under messages on the Schedules & Results page HERE!

Game Time!
A Triple Crown Site Director can go over the scorecard with you before the game, but this is extremely important. You will fill out your lineup on one half of the card (you do not need to list subs), and then the other coach will write their lineup on the other half. The umpire will keep the card and keep track of the score and pitching during the game. At the end of the game, both coaches must sign the scorecard

to verify the innings pitched by each player and the final score. This will determine the official score and innings pitched. Make sure to REVIEW the official scorecard for accuracy before signing. We will be updating scores and pitching on our website during the tournament. Triple Crown tracks the number of innings pitched not pitches thrown. Please keep a close eye on innings pitched! We take this very seriously and track it closely. Make sure everything is correct before signing the card.
Facility Directions: HERE! Go to the bottom of the page and look for the BLUE facilities button.

2021 Tournament Rules/Bat Rules HERE!
Pitching Rules:
Pitching Rules (Innings per Tournament): 11s = 6 innings 12s = 6 innings 13s = 7 innings 14s = 7innings 15s = 8 innings 16s = 8 innings 18s = 8 innings ****One additional inning per game, per player starting in a team’s 5th game played**** *Scorecards must be signed by both team managers to eliminate inning validation problems. (Managers, please help with this process.) *No limit on the number of appearances. *One pitch will be considered an inning pitched. *Eight warm-ups to start, five thereafter. *If pitching rules are violated and the infraction is detected, the situation will be reviewed and a MINIMUM of the head coach ejection will be enforced. Additional consequences may include the player ejection from game, player and head coach from the tournament, forfeiture of game and elimination of team from the event.

NFHS (National Federation of High School) Rules:
All our age groups play National Federation High School rules. There are Triple Crown modifications listed in the complete form on our website. Visit the link above.
No Ties in all games, we play for a winner of every game unless forced because of inclement weather disrupting tournament flow
Tie-Breaker System:  For ALL games (other than Championship Game) if a game is tied after all innings have been completed (or at time limit), the "American" tie-breaker rule will go into effect. The last three hitters from the previous inning will load the bases. The base runners will be placed as follows:  Last hitter from previous inning @ 1st Base / Hitter before him in the lineup @ 2nd Base/ Hitter before that in the lineup @ 3rd Base.  The offensive team also starts the inning with one out. This happens until the tie is broken and the game is complete.

Time Limits:
Time limits for 11u-12u is 1hr 45min or 6 innings, 13u-14u is 2hrs or 7 innings, 15u/16u/18u 2hrs 10 min or 7 innings.

Run Rules: (7U-12U) 15 runs after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, or 8 runs after 5 innings.
(13U-18U) 15 runs after 4 innings, 10 runs after 5 innings, or 8 runs after 6 innings
All ages have a 20-run rule after 2 complete innings (home team gets last bat, if necessary)

Batting Lineup:
All age groups can have an EH (Extra Hitter) if they choose to bat 10. You can also utilize a DH in addition to the EH. Teams 14u and younger only may bat any number of players (must start with 9) and retain subs but must remain at the same total number of batters they started with throughout the game. If you finish the game with less players in your batting lineup you must take outs in the vacant positions. Free defensive rotation for those in the lineup.

Courtesy Runners:
As per NFHS rules, a courtesy runner may be used for the pitcher or catcher. The courtesy runner must be a substitute player that has not been in the game. A courtesy runner may run for either the pitcher or catcher, but not both. Two courtesy runners (one for pitcher, one for catcher) may be used if the team has eligible substitutes for both roles. However, there is an optional (not mandatory) allowance for the catcher only- if the team does not meet the NFHS rule (eligible substitute), the last batter out may run for the catcher.

Pool Protection may occur for Bracket Play:
When seeding teams for the playoffs, if 2 teams have previously played each other in Pool Play we may Pool Protect. This means we may exchange the lower seeds to provide both teams with a new opponent for only their first playoff game. For example, in an 8-team playoff bracket, the #1 Seed would normally play the #8 Seed. However, if the #8 Seed and #1 Seed have played, we would flip the #7 seed with the #8 seed to avoid a rematch of pool play in the first round of playoffs.

Seeding Procedure
(First factor is Win-Loss record) Two Way Tie 1. Head to Head between tied teams
2. Total Run differential
3. Runs Allowed

4. Runs Scored
5. Actual run differential in last pool game

6.Coin Flip
Three (or more) Way Tie

1. Head to Head (if sweep)

2. Total Run differential

3. Runs Allowed
4. Runs Scored

5. Actual run differential in last pool game
6. Coin Flip

RA=Runs Allowed
RS=Runs Scored
LAD=Last Actual Differential
IMPORTANT: Run differential maximum

1. Forfeits will be scored 7-0

2. Maximum run spread per game is 7 regardless of score.
Note: When 3 or more teams are tied and there is not a common opponent amongst all tied teams, run differential is the first tie breaker.
